ANALYSIS OF CODE-MIXING FOUND IN THE CORBUZIER PODCAST ON YOUTUBE

Podcast is a platform for people to talk about something off-air which can be found on YouTube. This study aims identify the type of code-mixing and explain reasons using in Podcast. qualitative research collected data from speakers’ utterances YouTube video entitled “AZKA CORBUZIER LOH UDAH PACARAN SKRG!” non-participant observation documentation. The result revealed that there are 172 containing code-mixing. Firstly, Muysken’s typology theory, are: 99 alternation type, 72 insertion, one congruent lexicalisation. Secondly, involved two theories: Hoffman’s theory Bhatia Ritchie’s theory. In 124 as talking particular topic, 19 emphasising intention, 11 clarifying by repetition, six uncategorised, five being emphatic something, three quoting somebody else, expressing interjection group identity. Bathia theory: (1) participants: father son relation; (2) situational factors: podcast setting, involving private domain, intimate informal conversation, social variables: 14 years old 44 wealthy family; (3) message-intrinsic consideration: quotation, reiteration, message-qualification, topic-comment/relative clause, hedging, interjection/sentence filler; (4) language attitude, dominance, security: both speakers have positive attitude toward each other’s code-mixing, balanced dominant, respectable while exchanging code-mixing.Keywords: sociolinguistics, obsevation, podcast, bilingualism
